Located along the boardwalk, it’s the first non-gaming hotel on the boardwalk since the ‘60s. Described on the website as “a magical retreat where leisure and luxury come together”, we have to say The Chelsea delivers in many areas including class, style, boutique feel, curiosity, and a real effort to make the nightlife great. So now you’re wondering how the hell does that relate to my bachelor party – let me explain.
You’d like to think that you have some style and class somewhere within your group. Afterall, having at least some of it doesn’t hurt when trying to pick up chicks or come off as the most awesome guys in town. An easy way to gain or show off that status – stay somewhere that exudes it. Many people describe The Chelsea as Miami North because of its laid back high class feel – as well as the amazing pool scene day and night.
Pool – like we said, amazing pool scene that is great to lounge during the day and party at during the night when it turns into an extension of the club on the 5th floor. Note: this is just during the summer.
Stephen Starr – yup, he’s got two great restaurants here. Have breakfast in Teplitzky’s and an amazing steak dinner at Chelsea Prime.
5th Floor – the fifth floor turns into a club and because it’s small enough you won’t get lost or lose the passed out bachelor.
Seasonal – the Chelsea is great during the summer, and loses a lot during the winter. Since the nightlife is one of the main factors it’s a fun place, it gets tough when the bulk of it goes away for the winter.
Option – having a group at the bachelor party means you need options. Unfortunately, the Chelsea doesn’t have a casino and is way smaller than most of the other properties so it does lack a bit for options of things to do for a group of guys. If your group is cool with spending all day sitting by the pool or even wants to stay away from gambling because the bachelor lost his house on an over/under point shaving scheme then this is the place for you.
Overall, we’d recommend The Chelsea for a couple good reasons – as long as it’s summer. In the winter it still is an OK place and because it’s newer and has some mystery about it girls you meet at other clubs will say – “ohhh... you’re staying at The Chelsea, I’ve always wanted to see those rooms.” OK, based on that – just stay here.
